CyberThon is a community event designed to give high school and college students hands-on experience in cyber defense and engagement procedures with instruction from active industry experts. Cybersecurity professionals from DoD cyber operations and training commands in Northwest Florida volunteer to mentor and participate in this cyber education and awareness showcase event, created to grow Pensacola’s IT and Cybersecurity workforce. Cyber experts are needed to fulfill critical security missions, so by partnering as a community and involving students, a cyber-skilled workforce pipeline can be developed for local, high demand careers.

The second annual CyberThon is a 2 ½ day event set for January 20-22, 2017 at the National Flight Academy.  Event details are coming soon - to receive CyberThon email updates with newly released information, be sure to sign up for our AFCEA Pensacola Chapter email newsletter!

The Gulf Coast Cyber Range (GCCR) is a joint venture of the GBS Institute (501-C3 non-profit) and the Blue Angels Chapter of the Armed Forces Electronics and Communications Association (AFCEA).  The GCCR serves K-12 students as an after school STEM laboratory initiative to inspire and prepare students for a cyber career through hands on cyber security training.  GCCR includes both a physical space for students to visit after school and a virtual cloud based simulation and training environment to practice cyber security skillsets.  The range bridges the gap between Primary and Secondary educational programs within the cybersecurity field by providing hands-on developmental training and practical experience.
